For our manufacturing site based in Novi Sad, Serbia we are looking for a
Procurement Specialist
General purpose:
- Managing the procurement process for new projects, with a focus on the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, including supplier sourcing, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and coordination of quality-related deliverables,
- Working closely with project teams to ensure that all procurement activities are aligned with project timelines and quality requirements,
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies to support project goals, incorporating sustainability practices and supplier development.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the end-to-end procurement activities within R&D projects, from acquisition phase to Start of Production (SOP), including full ownership of BOM cost management, timely and cost-effective sourcing, supplier coordination and active involvement in APQP/PPAP processes,
- Providing early purchasing engagement, support technical changes, drive cost optimization initiatives (Cost Reduction Program (CRP), re-design to cost) and secure supply continuity through strategic sourcing and supplier development,
- Developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with project milestones, with a strong focus on cost optimization, quality assurance and timely delivery,
- Coordinating supplier-related activities including RFQs (Request for Quotations), Supplier Component Reviews (SCRs), BOM analysis and tooling cost evaluations, ensuring full compliance with technical specifications and commercial targets,
- Responsible for NPI (New Product Introduction) project during the NPI phase until SOP of the projects: to keep and optimize the margin on the components; to negotiate competitive conditions with the new suppliers; to propose alternatives before and during product validation; close follow up of the project schedules and delivery of samples,
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Engineering, Quality) to ensure early supplier involvement and sourcing decisions that support product development goals,
- Identifying, evaluating and managing supplier relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chains,
- Driving supplier development initiatives to enhance technical capabilities, quality performance, and delivery reliability,
- Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable commercial terms, secure favorable conditions, and mitigate supply risks,
- Ensuring alignment with project timelines, technical specifications, and company compliance standards,
- Supporting long-term supplier agreements and frame contracts that enable flexibility and scalability across development phases,
- Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs and support escalation or corrective actions when needed,
- Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations,
- Preparing and presenting procurement reports to management,
- Conducting cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, or a relevant field,
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on project procurement and APQP/PPAP process,
- Strong knowledge of the APQP/PPAP process and project management principles,
- Knowledge of electronic and mechanical components, including their specifications, functions, and sourcing considerations,
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills,
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- English language, both written and spoken, is required,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
