About the role

We’re looking for a skilled, motivated Project Engineer (Mechanical) to support the planning, design and execution of infrastructure projects on a major owner-mining development in Côte d’Ivoire.

You’ll work across simultaneous infrastructure delivery and operational readiness scopes, partnering with a global team to drive safe, high-quality execution on site.

This is a site-based role on a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster, with flights from point of hire.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate delivery of mechanical infrastructure packages supporting mine operations (workshops and associated services).
• Manage contractors and QA/QC requirements for mechanical scopes, including:
• Workshop services (lubricants, compressors, service air/water)
• Potable water and wastewater services
• Fuel depot interfaces (including contractor management and coordination with fuel management systems)
• Support design, procurement and construction execution, including scope definition, package requirements, pricing support, procurement tracking and delivery assurance.
• Develop and maintain project controls inputs: cost reporting, schedule tracking, Gantt charts, and weekly progress updates.
• Produce practical engineering outputs to support site execution (e.g., piping layouts, small steelwork concepts, BoQs, vendor engagement documentation).
• Coordinate across disciplines (civil, electrical, environmental, geotechnical) to ensure integrated delivery and effective interface management.
• Resolve technical issues in conjunction with contractors, consultants and site teams while ensuring quality outcomes.
• Contribute to budgeting, scheduling and risk management as part of the owner mining delivery scope.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (construction/design exposure advantageous).
• Experience delivering infrastructure in mining or heavy industrial environments, with evidence of delivering to schedule and budget.
• Strong contractor management capability and practical site execution focus.
• Solid understanding of construction methodology (including enough civil exposure to manage interfaces effectively).
• Drafting/design capability using common industry tools (e.g., AutoCAD; ability to generate layouts and documentation suitable for pricing and construction).
• Competence with project controls and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project / Primavera desirable).
• High attention to detail, strong organisation skills, and clear communication style.
• Willingness to work site based in Côte d’Ivoire on a 6:3 roster.
• Fluent English Speaker and Technical Report Level literacy
