We are looking for a RETAIL AP & AR OFFICER to manage accounts payable and receivable processes within the retail segment of a leading real estate company, ensuring accurate financial operations and supporting the continued growth of the business.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and financial operations, including document processing, bank reconciliation, invoicing, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. The position focuses on maintaining accuracy in accounting records, supporting audit preparation, and fostering effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and banks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate issuance of documents in accordance with lease agreements, control contracts and data for invoicing purposes
  • Coordinate sending outgoing documents to SEF and check status
  • Properly record incoming documents from SEF in accounting software
  • Perform financial operations related to entering and reconciling bank statements
  • Correctly record advance payments
  • Actively participate in preparing documentation for audit purposes
  • Control integration between different systems
  • Analyze lease agreement terms and conditions and monitor tenant compliance
  • Actively participate in collection of company receivables
  • Reconcile analytical account balances with customers and suppliers
  • Communicate with bank regarding enforcement of security instruments and other requests
  • Prepare reports on collections and receivables status
  • Collaborate with internal team and other teams within the organization to ensure timely execution of all operational accounting tasks
  • Work in accordance with accounting standards and applicable legal regulations, including the Law on Electronic Invoicing, VAT Law, Corporate Income Tax Law, etc.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from superiors within the company

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Secondary education in economics, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting operations (AP & AR), preferably in retail or real estate industry
  • Strong knowledge of Serbian accounting standards and relevant legal regulations (Law on Electronic Invoicing, VAT Law, Corporate Income Tax Law)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, invoicing, and document processing
  • Familiarity with audit documentation preparation
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
