Job Title: Safety Officer (On-Site | Second Shift)
Location: Niš office. This is a fully on-site role. We value face-to-face collaboration and believe the best results come from working together in the same environment.
Working hours: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
About the Role
The Safety Officer plays a critical role in ensuring all company operations meet regulatory and safety standards. This position is responsible for monitoring driver and fleet compliance, supporting safe operations and maintaining adherence to local state and federal transportation regulations. The role works closely with management, drivers and external agencies to reduce risk, support audits and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing driver compliance items, such as DOT physicals and CDL licenses
- Random and Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol testing
- Maintain and organize a database of DOT inspections, including truck violations and related repair invoices
- Work within the company’s TMS to add and update equipment records, create and manage driver profiles, and monitor system alerts
- Obtain and manage required state permits, including New York (NY), New Mexico (NM), and Kentucky (KY) permits
- Handle and maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files for new and existing drivers in compliance with DOT regulations
- Assist with monitoring driver performance and compliance through the Samsara platform
- Communicate with drivers regarding safety compliance, violations, and corrective actions
- Issuing new fuel cards (when needed), monitoring transactions, updating limits, and ensuring proper usage by active drivers
- Support/assist management with ad hoc projects and related responsibilities
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience is preferred, but motivated candidates with no experience are welcome to apply. Training will be provided
- High level of English proficiency with strong communication skills; must feel confident and comfortable speaking with drivers overseas on a daily basis
- Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn internal systems and software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Detail-oriented, responsible and proactive approach to work
- Strong team player with a high level of dedication and work ethic
