Senior Accountant

For our client, Glovo, a global tech-enabled platform operating in on-demand delivery and present across multiple international markets, we are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to join their finance team in the role of:

Senior Accountant (Belgrade | Hybrid model)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the company’s accounting records in line with local statutory regulations
• Perform regular general ledger reviews and ensure data accuracy
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting requirements
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for group reporting
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities (IFRS 9, 15, 16)
• Handle tax accounting and prepare tax declarations
• Prepare statutory financial statements and VAT reporting
• Monitor tax exposure and ensure proper treatment of deductible expenses
• Ensure VAT accounts reflect the underlying business activities
• Track changes in tax legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies
• Maintain strong and professional relationships with tax authorities and external institutions
• Lead and coordinate the annual external audit, including preparation of audit documentation and communication with auditors

Experience & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred, but not mandatory)
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience working with ERP systems (Pantheon is a plus)
• Experience in multinational companies or complex organizational environments
• Hands-on experience with audits, tax inspections, statutory reporting, and tight closing deadlines
• Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented
