Senior Accountant

AFI Hotel Management Belgrade is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant for a new Marriott hotel opening to join the finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial operations. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage day-to-day accounting activities while supporting month-end closing and financial reporting processes. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Recording and monitoring cash transactions, supplier invoices, and bank statements to ensure accurate financial records
• Executing domestic and international payments in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Processing petty cash transactions, travel expenses, and other operational costs
• Preparing payment proposals and monitoring outstanding financial obligations
• Supporting the month-end closing process, including ledger reconciliations and VAT reporting
• Coordinating effectively with internal and external auditors during audit processes
• Contributing to the preparation of the internal financial statements and financial reports
• Ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations and financial procedures

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
• Proven experience in accounting, preferably within the hospitality sector
• Experience working with SEF
• Familiarity with SAP Business One is considered an advantage
• Knowledge of VAT and CIT law – as a must
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Good understanding of tax regulations and accounting practices
• High level of accuracy, responsibility, and professional integrity
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
