Senior Accountant (m/f)

We are looking for the Senior Accountant in Bayer Serbia. The primary accountability is to secure the financial license to operate, complete, timely and qualitative execution of Accounting and Tax Operations for group and statutory financial and tax reporting.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent is accountable for Accounting and Tax processes and reporting and Legal entity controlling.

He/she ensures the delivery of group and statutory financial reporting and local tax reporting through the following main activities:

• VAT reporting, SEF reporting, and other accounting and tax related processes in line with local legislation
• Perform Annual Statutory Accounts, Tax returns and other mandatory Statutory Reporting
• Ensures full compliance with group’s financial guidelines as well as local financial, tax and related legal / regulatory requirements
• Builds a strong network within Bayer’s local, regional and GBS Finance community and manages service delivery from other functions in a way that Bayer’s internal and external targets are fulfilled 
• Collaboration with external auditors and data preparation
• Asset accounting: identify and communicate to Asset Management team new investments in the business to ensure accurate accounting treatment, ensure IFRS 16 is correctly implemented, asset sale preparation  
• Accruals and provision management
• Perform Inventory Valuation
• Perform General Ledger activities to ensure correct posting and reporting (requests for new / changes of GL accounts or master data according to defined work procedures, WPA posting, collaboration with GBS to achieve qualitative and efficient posting)
• Perform monitoring and clearing of Accounts which are in responsibility of the country

WHO YOU ARE:

• Master’s degree in economy, finance-related discipline
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in accounting and tax 
• Strong knowledge: Accounting (IFRS and local legislation), SEF, Tax (primarily VAT), SAP
• Strong Excel and Power BI knowledge
• Professional experience in a multicultural environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication and cross-functional networking skills
• Strong competencies: Drives Results, managing complexity and ambiguity, focusing on outcome, collaboration with accountability  
• Ability to challenge and take ownership and deliver the unexpected
• Fluency in English and Serbian
