Senior Accountant

At Bilstein group South East Europe, we believe that financial transparency, strong processes, and reliable reporting are the foundation of sustainable business success. To further strengthen our Finance & Accounting function, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting professional who will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end financial accounting activities, including period closings, statutory and group reporting, tax compliance, and audit coordination. Working closely with Group Finance, internal stakeholders, and external partners, you will contribute to high-quality financial insights, support management decision-making, and actively participate in SAP S/4HANA-driven optimization and digitalization initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting & Financial Closing

• Overall responsibility for financial accounting activities
• Preparation and coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Preparation of financial reports and management analyses
• Ensure accurate general ledger accounting, accruals, and provisions

Tax & Compliance

• Manage tax compliance, including VAT and corporate tax
• Ensure adherence to local and international accounting regulations
• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

Intercompany & Group Reporting

• Perform intercompany reconciliations
• Ensure accurate and timely group reporting
• Collaborate with Group Finance and external advisors on complex accounting topics

SAP S/4HANA & Process Optimization

• Optimize accounting processes using SAP S/4HANA
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives within the finance department
• Participate in system upgrades, testing, and SAP module implementations

Controlling & Treasury Support

• Conduct budget variance analyses and provide insights to management
• Support treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting

Leadership & Team Development (Future Scope)

• Provide functional guidance and support to junior accounting staff
• Ensure knowledge transfer and quality standards within the team
• Prepare for the assumption of disciplinary and people management responsibility

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in an international environment
• Strong proficiency in SAP S/4HANA (Advantage) and MS Office
• Solid knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Fluent English
