Senior Associate - Banking & Finance

The Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our Banking & Financeteam at our Belgrade office. Our banking and finance lawyers combine strong regional insight with deep transactional and regulatory expertise, advising clients on complex financing matters, managing risk across the lifecycle of deals, and delivering practical, commercially focused solutions.

Our Banking and Finance team advises clients across the full spectrum of financing and regulatory matters, providing strategic guidance on complex transactions, lending structures, and compliance issues. We support clients in structuring, negotiating, and executing domestic and cross‑border financings, including acquisition, project, and real estate finance, as well as refinancing and restructuring. Our practice is experienced in managing sophisticated, high‑value matters, helping clients mitigate financial and regulatory risk, and navigate multi‑jurisdictional transactions with commercial focus and precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising clients on the full spectrum of banking and finance matters, including complex cross border transactions, foreign exchange considerations, regulatory matters for all specialised financial institutions and other regulated institutions, drawing on at least five years of relevant experience.
• Supporting partners in large-scale or multi-jurisdictional transactions and taking the lead in supervising and guiding junior team members, ensuring high-quality work product and timely delivery.
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents with precision, clarity, and strategic insight.
• Conducting detailed legal research to anticipate procedural and substantive developments, identify risks, and deliver informed, proactive, and commercially oriented advice to clients.
• Actively participating in deal structuring, drafting, negotiations, and providing strategic assessments and advocating effectively for optimal client outcomes.
• Contributing to business development through presentations, thought-leadership contributions, participation in conferences, and cultivation of strong client relationships.
• Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers, offering constructive feedback, training, and support in developing litigation and arbitration skills.

Key Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Banking & Finance law.
• Strong legal and procedural knowledge of Serbian law and frameworks.
• Full professional fluency in English and Serbian, both spoken and written.
• Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong time management skills and ability to perform under pressure in complex, high-stakes matters.
• High ethical standards, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
