Senior Associate | Dispute Resolution | Belgrade

Description

The Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our Dispute Resolutionteam at our Belgrade office. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and professional environment, advising leading international and domestic clients on complex dispute related matters.

Kinstellar has one of the strongest and most experienced Dispute Resolution practices in Emerging Europe, Turkey, and Central Asia. Our lawyers combine deep regional insight with robust dispute-handling expertise, helping clients manage complex proceedings, mitigate litigation and arbitration risks, and achieve effective, strategic outcomes.

Our Dispute Resolution team advises on all aspects of conflict management, providing strategic guidance and representation in complex commercial, regulatory, and administrative disputes. We handle negotiations, mediation, and arbitration, as well as litigation before courts. Our practice is experienced in managing high-stakes matters, supporting clients in arbitration and litigation proceedings, developing effective risk-mitigation strategies, and navigating cross-border and multi-jurisdictional disputes with efficiency and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on the full spectrum of dispute resolution matters, including complex commercial disputes, contractual claims, regulatory enforcement actions, and cross-border litigation and arbitration, drawing on at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Representing clients before courts, arbitral tribunals, and regulatory authorities, including developing procedural strategies and preparing pleadings, evidence, and oral submissions.
  • Leading and independently managing case files, including coordination of discovery/disclosure processes, preparation of witnesses, engagement of experts, and oversight of case-management tasks.
  • Supporting partners in large-scale or multi-jurisdictional disputes and taking the lead in supervising and guiding junior team members, ensuring high-quality work product and timely delivery.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents—such as statements of claim and defence, motions, settlement agreements, legal opinions, correspondence, and procedural filings—with precision, clarity, and strategic insight.
  • Conducting detailed legal research to anticipate procedural and substantive developments, identify litigation risks, and deliver informed, proactive, and commercially oriented advice to clients.
  • Actively participating in negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions, providing strategic assessments and advocating effectively for optimal client outcomes.
  • Contributing to business development through presentations, thought-leadership contributions, participation in conferences, and cultivation of strong client relationships.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers, offering constructive feedback, training, and support in developing litigation and arbitration skills.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in dispute resolution, including commercial, regulatory, and cross-border matters.
  • Strong legal and procedural knowledge of Serbian law and frameworks.
  • Full professional fluency in English and Serbian, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to perform under pressure in complex, high-stakes matters.
  • Demonstrated expertise and interest in dispute resolution strategies, litigation and arbitration processes, and managing procedural and commercial risks.
  • High ethical standards, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to delivering top-quality legal services to international clients and contributing to the growth and reputation of the practice.
