Software Data Engineer - (Global position within PWO Group IT Shared Competence Center)

Location: SCC Serbia (hybrid/online)

Job description:

As a Software Data Engineer, you will strengthen one of core IT software teams for development and support of the company-wide global business intelligence and data warehousing deployment.

Engagement will include, without limitation to, the following tasks, competences and responsibilities:

• Independent design and implementation of data analytics and integration solutions based on business requirements, standards, policies and data architecture and strategy of the company by applying best practice software engineering.
• Automating information/data lineage in software defined ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL and other relevant coding frameworks and languages.
• Actively designing and implementing the technological landscape of hybrid data warehousing on-prem and data lakehousing on cloud environments.
• Documenting solution design and implementation work results in standardized form and dynamics.
• Providing support for ad-hoc analytics, auditing and business intelligence projects and processes.
• Backed by experience, use and propose AI tools for empowering department’s and overall IT project delivery.

Job requirements:

• Degree in information technology, mathematics, business informatics or a comparable qualification.
• Mid to senior experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years practical experience in programming language Python for data processing and related frameworks and libraries.
• Strong SQL experience, at least 3 years implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of relational databases.
• Profound knowledge of software engineering best practices and experience with common version control tools (Git) and agile project management (Azure DevOps)
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills with documentation practice
• Solution-oriented mindset with team environment collaboration attitude.
• Self-responsible working style with transparency and openness.
• Excellent English language skills.
