WHES is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the installation, commissioning, and technical support of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This hybrid role requires hands-on expertise in deploying energy storage solutions across various applications, as well as strong problem-solving skills and responsiveness to customer inquiries and demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical support, field service, and system commissioning for BESS as needed.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure reliable system deployment and performance.
  • Develop and deliver technical solutions and on-site support activities within project timelines.
  • Generate detailed technical project plans (milestones, activities, dates, responsibilities) to ensure timely execution, budget compliance, and adherence to technical standards.
  • Supervise on-site commissioning and service tasks, while maintaining proactive communication with relevant departments regarding system status and technical issues.
  • Analyze field testing results and system data, providing high-quality technical reports with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations.
  • Be creative and practical in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues based on system configuration, customer constraints, and grid requirements.
  • Design and conduct commissioning tests both on-site and remotely to verify system readiness and optimize integration.
  • Establish strong technical communication with customers, understanding their operational needs to provide accurate support and service.
  • Translate customer technical issues into product configuration requirements, delivering targeted solutions to resolve system faults or performance deviations.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, system documentation, and technical materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support internal engineering teams by providing structured feedback from the field, including failure analysis and system performance insights.
  • Accurately and timely report results and progress on assigned technical tasks in accordance with company procedures and engineering standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, or maintenance of power electronics or energy solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience in technical support, field service, and system commissioning.
  • Knowledge of grid integration, energy storage applications, and power systems is a plus.
  • Expertise in electrical design, electrical power systems, system performance, and power inverters is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel 70% of the time for on-site support and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of the German language is desirable
