Specific duties (Key Performance Indicators):
- Manage the complete design process within set schedules for each design project
- Produce specific and precise design and layouts for foundations, buildings and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets proposed/agreed brief contract, proposals, and other data within stated deadlines
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs
- Ensure that blueprints comply with required codes and legal standards
- Ensure all measurements and calculations are correct: dimensional and routine calculations for drawings and design layouts
- Responsible for the conversion of architect designs, engineer plans, rough sketches, and technical drawings to create, modify, and develop detailed technical construction drawings using engineering, drafting, and building techniques specifying dimensions, material, and procedures that will pass the regulations of building and construction authorities
- Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and presentation in order to graphically represent building plans as well as print, prepare, and organize physical paper drawings as needed
- Collaborate with Design Manager, Estimator, Project Managers, and affiliate architects, and engineers throughout the process of creating, revising, and completion of drawings
- Administer design revisions throughout the process responding to queries and confirmations providing quick and accurate answers
- Maintain and document all project related drawing and documentation libraries, periodically revise and adjust information as appropriate

- Produce high quality, accurately calculated and precision drawings with an attention for detail
- Compliance to laws and regulations of building and architectural codes and by-laws
- Compile documentation required for applicable government agency/buildings inspections
- Adhering to deadlines and client requirements, identifying and addressing potential issues resolve design details or discrepancies
Work experience requirements
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in similar position
Education requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
- Additional certifications would be a plus
Additional requirements
- Fluency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS
- Proficiency with building technologies and the fundamentals of building construction and assembly
- Strong graphics and visual presentation skills
- Dexterity with hand drawing: rendering capabilities
- Expert knowledge of CAD, CG, and is able to work effectively on improving design creation and design presentation
