About OCSiAl Group:
OCSiAl is the world’s largest producer of graphene nanotubes. Our team consists of more than 450 employees located in Europe, USA and Asia. OCSiAl’s mission is to improve the specific properties of all base materials, making the world a better place for all living beings. We are pursuing this mission by developing universal nanotube solutions and introducing them into the manufacturing industry. This is leading to the creation of a new generation of nanoaugmented materials and end products, whose previously unobtainable properties will become the standard for consumer expectations.
Key responsibilities:
- Control and maintenance of main equipment of the system for experimental synthesis of carbon nanotubes (high-temperature experimental reactor). The Engineer-technologist prepares the experimental equipment, monitors the process parameters from the workstation and according to the indications of control and measuring devices. Typically, 50% of the time the employee works with the equipment; 50% of the time, the worker participates in experiments on carbon nanotube synthesis: controls the system and monitors parameters.
- Under the guidance and instructions of the scientific supervisor the employee will have control of a carbon nanomaterials production in experimental set-up. Supervise the operation of equipment with high temperatures and hazardous gases. The set-up is equipped with manual and automation systems and during the experiments is mainly (85%) controlled from the separate control room to monitor the synthesis process. Undertake additional training and understand all physical processes used in this production.
- The Engineer-technologist controls and regulates the feeding of basic and auxiliary raw materials, parameters of the reactor systems: temperature, pressure, other indicators. Forecasts and prevents equipment failures. Analyses processes in various steps of the synthesis based on parameters and knowledge of physical and processes occurring in reactor. Under the guidance of scientific supervisor develops process instructions and other process documentation, makes changes to process documentation in connection with adjustments to the experimental process and synthesis modes.
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety hazards or incidents to the scientific supervisor. Notify external maintenance personnel of any issues requiring advanced maintenance.
- Collaborate with external personal, including machine operators, technicians, and supervisors, to achieve goals of experiments and resolve operational problems.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the area of experimental synthesis.
- Under the guidance of scientific supervisor prepares equipment for experiment process. Operates apparatus, pipelines, shut-off valves, and other equipment. Observes the requirements of labour protection and industrial safety. Maintains cleanliness at the workplace.
- Five-day workweek, 8-hour workday.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Higher technical education and at least 5 years of work experience in production or experimental natural sciences.
- Experience of working as an engineer or technologist at oil or refining production facilities and/or on experimental equipment is welcome.
- Basic physics and chemistry knowledge.
- Experience and skills in operating industrial equipment (high-temperature furnaces, chemical reactors, gas distribution equipment).
- Experience working with explosive and flammable gases.
- Knowledge of English language.
- Knowledge of Russian language is welcome, but not required.
