Summary:
Responsible for the Network Model part of the project during the complete project lifecycle. Communication with vendor and client piers, decision making on the best path moving forward, development inspection, supervision of the test cycles execution, go-live preparation, and cutover execution.
Role Description:
- Develop, Review, Analyze, and/or Update Network Model object and attribute mapping (i.e., source to target)
- Develop, Review, Analyze, and/or Update Network Model export/import design (i.e., review all logic to ensure meets requirements and there are not any gaps)
- Perform Data Gap Analysis between the current and new system
- Analyze available data sources and Identifying data gaps considering requirements necessary for the successful power application utilization
- Manually build and maintain schematic view and other custom specific views based on legacy source system presentation or other source of data (i.e., paper or pdf maps to ADMS or GIS)
- Manually build and maintain catalogs, or change existing export format into required import format for purpose of catalog data migration
- Extract, Import, and Promote circuits and/or substations to ADMS
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues for circuits and/or substations that are rejected/invalid
- Record and Monitor performance of each step: Extract, Import, and Synchronization
- Report status of each circuit and/or substation
- Create substation single line drawings (if non-existent)
- Migrate substation internals (topology and connectivity) from one system to another (i.e., MicroStation to ADMS, GIS to ADMS, etc.)
- Manually build and maintain substation internals (topology and connectivity) based on single line diagrams or other source of data (i.e., paper or pdf maps to ADMS or GIS)
- Develop success criteria and metrics for circuits and substations
- Develop validation plan for circuits and substations
- Validate circuits and substations
- Report status of validation for each circuit and substation
- Develop tuning criteria (for OMS and Advanced Apps) for circuits and substations
- Develop tuning plan for circuits and substations
- Develop, Review, and Analyze tuning reports
- Tune circuits and substations by performing corrections on source data
- Report status of tuning for each circuit and substation
Required skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical distribution network design, operation, and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with the physical and operational characteristics of network components (e.g., transformers, switches, capacitors).
- Proficiency in creating, updating, and maintaining the ADMS network model, ensuring it accurately reflects the physical distribution network.
- Understanding of how to model various grid elements and their behaviors within the ADMS for accurate simulation and analysis.
- Skills in managing and validating large datasets to ensure high data quality within the network model.
- Ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies or inaccuracies that could impact ADMS functionalities.
- Experience with integrating the ADMS network model with other utility systems (e.g., GIS, SCADA, meter data management) for data exchange and synchronization.
- Ability to analyze network model performance and identify areas for optimization or correction.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting issues related to network modeling and proposing effective solutions.
- Understanding of industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC) related to network modeling and operation.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting network operations and planning.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with engineering teams, IT staff, and external vendors.
- Ability to convey technical details about the network model to non-technical stakeholders.
