Compliance Officer

Our company is searching for a motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to guarantee that our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal and internal guidelines. Your duties will include reviewing employee work, developing company policies, and responding to policy violations.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and professional and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. To prosper in this role, you should be fluent in risk management and our industry’s principles.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program
• Develop and review company policies
• Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports
• Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
• Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk
• Assess company operations to determine compliance risk
• Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes

In order to be successful in your role, you should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management or a related field
• 3 – 5 years of proven experience in a compliance officer role
• Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures
• Brilliant oral and written communication skills. Proficient in English
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with FinTech products and the EU & UK regulatory landscape

As a Compliance Officer, we expect you to:

• Formulate, implement and update risk assessments that are performed at the firm level
• Formulate, implement and update risk assessments that are performed at the customer level. This would include any risk scoring process and any other ratings system that informs it (such as a country risk ratings list or a prohibited business/customer list which is taken into account when risk scoring customers)
• Formulate and perform onboarding customers
• Formulate and perform screening for PEPs, sanctions and adverse media and the handling of alerts (for customer onboarding and, separately, for clients)
• Formulate and perform ongoing monitoring. This would include transaction monitoring, refreshing customer due diligence and ongoing screening
• Formulate, implement and update enhanced due diligence measures. This would include such measures at the time of onboarding and on an ongoing basis.
• Formulate, implement and update Suspicious activity reporting
• Formulate, implement and update record keeping
• Conduct staff training
• Management oversight or processes that relate to our AML framework. This would include, for example, how information is collated and reported to management in order to ensure appropriate oversight and identify trends to inform changes to your framework
• Formulate, implement and update any anti-fraud measures and assessments that may not already be covered within the above documentation
• Formulate, implement and update anti-bribery and corruption policies and assessments. This would include any whistleblowing process or channel through which employees can raise concerns
