CONSTRUCTION PROCUREMENT MANAGER

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all procurement and purchases related to the project and construction
• Control the process from technical description to order placement and delivery at the project location 
• Develop and implement procurement plans for all department purchases in accordance with project requirements and company procedures
• Verify purchase requirements 
• Identify reliable suppliers and shipping agents to satisfy the company's demands, offer competitive price, and ensure timely delivery
• Review and negotiate purchase and transportation contracts, including pricing and terms
• Maintain a list of suppliers, items, and prices to optimize product selection, pricing, and delivery options
• Manage purchasing process from pre-bidding to approvals and implementation
• Manage movement of shipments (sea, air, or road freight) into the country by choosing the best transportation options to reduce the cost and increase the profitability
• Plan and implement import strategy and activities consistent with overall requirements of the company
• Represent company in evaluation of proposals and bids
• Evaluate vendors annually to ensure quality assurance
• Maintain positive relationship with import authorities, liners, and carriers to ensure efficient and lawful support and activities
• Effectively and proactively plan, coordinate and report about procurement activities

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction / engineering, business, economics or supply management
• Minimum of 8 years of purchasing management experience in relevant industry
• Experience in financial analysis in major project environments
• Fluent in English

JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS:

• Negotiation skills
• Ability to deal effectively with subcontractors and suppliers
• Multi-cultural workforce management experience
• Solid understanding of contractual law, contract formation, tendering process, logistics and materials management
