We are looking for a Credit Control Team Lead to join our European Patent Validation team in Belgrade.
As a Credit Control Team Lead you will oversee a team responsible for managing the credit and collections processes of the organisation. Your primary goal is to ensure that outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Management:
- Lead the accounts receivable and credit control team.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
- Foresight to distribute workload and tasks in time of absence from the team.
- Collaborate with operational and customer care teams.
2. Credit Management:
- Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures.
- Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
- Set credit limits and terms for customers in accordance with company policies.
3 Collections:
- Maintain portfolio of approx. 400 aged debtors to ensure timely collection.
- Manage and maintain an aged debt analysis of all outstanding payments.
- Monitor overdue accounts and initiate collection actions. Escalate any potential bad debt accounts to Line Manager.
4. Reporting:
- Generate and analyse reports on accounts receivable aging and collection activity.
- Provide regular updates on the status of overdue accounts to management.
5. Customer Relationships:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Investigate and resolve accounts receivable and customer-related issues.
- Manage mailbox, resolving customer related queries by email and phone.
6. Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in the credit control process and recommend improvements.
- Implement best practices to streamline operations and enhance collection effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in credit control or collections.
- Thrives in a busy environment and handles stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, 40 working hours per week (standard Serbian working hours). This is a hybrid position working in the office 3 days every other week.
