Position: Data Engineer
Job Type: Full-time (Second Shift, 13:00 to 21:00)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help maintain our existing analytical database (data cube) and build and maintain a data lake. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft technologies and be capable of handling large volumes of data, ensuring data quality, and implementing processes for data analysis. The data lake can be implemented in a cloud environment (Microsoft Azure) or on-premises.

This position will initially require working from our office, with the potential to transition to a hybrid work arrangement later.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and optimize the existing analytical database (data cube).
• Design, build, and maintain the data lake using Microsoft Azure technologies or on-premises infrastructure.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes for data collection, storage, and transformation.
• Ensure data quality and manage metadata.
• Manage data access and security.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business users to understand their needs and ensure the data lake meets their requirements.
• Optimize data lake performance and set up and maintain data pipelines.
• Keep up with new technologies and trends in data management and implement them as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies (Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics) and/or on-premises data lake implementation.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes.
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Lake architecture and best practices.
• Experience with data management tools such as Power BI or similar.
• Ability to work in a team and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics.
• Certifications related to Microsoft Azure or relevant technologies.
• Experience with big data tools such as Apache Spark or Hadoop.
