We are seeking an Experienced Freight Coordinator to manage high-priority shipments, working primarily with FedEx, expedited freight, full truckload, power-only, and dry van operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, experience on the carrier side, and the ability to negotiate and manage real-time freight movements.
Key Responsibilities:
Load Management & Carrier Coordination
- Take calls from FedEx regarding load offers and contact carriers to confirm capacity.
- Negotiate rates with dedicated carriers (working with 30-40 regular carriers).
- Build and manage loads in McLeod TMS (preferred).
- Send rate confirmations and ensure all details are accurate before execution.
Tracking & Operational Efficiency
- Monitor shipments and provide real-time tracking updates to FedEx.
- Respond to tracking calls to confirm truck movement.
- Quickly recover bounced loads by securing alternative carriers.
- Ensure smooth facility-to-facility transfers, with occasional vendor pickups during peak seasons.
Market & Lane Focus
- Manage freight primarily within Memphis, Indianapolis, and Newark lanes.
- Handle a high-touch workload with same-day pickups and rapid turnaround times.
Schedule: Tuesday & Wednesday (7 PM – 6 AM), Saturday & Sunday (10 AM – 10 PM)
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role, preferably on the carrier side.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with McLeod TMS is preferred.
- Communication: Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage carrier relationships effectively.
- Location: Full remote
- Availability: Able to work the designated shift hours.
