JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Software Engineer, you will be a part of the team developing Remote Vehicle Data platform. The platform connects our hardware devices plugged into vehicles to our cloud-based Backend system. The Backend consists of microservices running on AWS and is used by several front-end portals. The project enables large vehicle fleets to retrieve diagnostics and positions of the vehicles with many added features.
Part of your engagement will be developing front-end portals, which are progressive web apps. You will also have an opportunity to take part in the backend development, enhancing the features of our system.
You will collaborate with a diverse international team of experts and have an opportunity to work on multidisciplinary projects related to advanced vehicle diagnostics. The projects cover multiple disciplines and technologies, including cloud-based services, desktop & mobile apps, embedded software and firmware.
DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES
- Development of front-end portals (progressive web applications), using Typescript
- Taking part in the development of the backend parts of the system, using Typescript and Java, in an AWS-based solution (experience in this area is not required, but is a plus)
- Development of robust, scalable, secure enterprise cloud environments, infrastructure and platforms using appropriate state of the art technologies
- Evaluate current technical solutions and propose improvements
- Analyze eventual issues and derive corrective actions
- Take full ownership and responsibility for the code you create
- Cooperate with an international development team and customers
- Periodical on-call shifts, performing basic dev-ops tasks to ensure high availability of the service
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 1 year+ of frontend development using JavaScript, building web apps
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent in English
WOULD BE A PLUS
- Experience using AWS Services, Azure services or any other major cloud provider's services
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery process
- Experience working in agile teams
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the entire software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
