General Ledger Accountant expert (temporary for 1.5 year)

Location: Belgrade

You will be performing a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department for entities in Switzerland, Serbia and abroad – jointly responsible for the month / quarterly / year-end closing.

Your responsibilities:

• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records into SAP
• Execute month-end closing processes including bank reconciliation
• Conduct Balance sheets reconciliation, perform Intercompany reconciliation
• Practical experience with VAT regulations, especially Serbian VAT, including preparation, submission, and reconciliation in compliance with local legislation
• Check and register Travel expense reports for various companies within the Group
• Manage Intercompany Invoices: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of intercompany invoices, ensuring compliance with internal policies and cross-entity reconciliation procedures
• Booking of Bank Statements: Record and reconcile daily bank transactions, ensuring that all entries are accurately reflected in the general ledger and aligned with cash flow statements
• Analyze existing key accounts and understand related processes, compile data and prepare a variety of reports

Your profile:

• Education: Batchelor’s degree is a minimum preferable in Finance and Accounting
• Experience: 3-5 years of work experience in accounting
• Background in financial reporting, reconciliation, and general ledger activities
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Good overall IT literacy
• Experience with SAP
• Additional requirements: Operative/specialized in subject, strong analytical skills
• Technical and Computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in Excel (formulas, functions, pivot tables)
• Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, quick learner with adaptability to new tools and processes, high level of self-knowledge, self-control, and self-discipline, specialized and proactive in accounting-related tasks
