HR Specialist

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

This position will work within the structure of the tiered HR Model (“HR Central”), providing support to business aligned projects and consultancy to managers and employees on matters that cannot be resolved by HR Representatives. In 2012, NCR has established a presence in Serbia and since continues increasing business and workforce in our Center of Excellence. The HR Specialist role will work closely with global and local management to ensure that we attract, retain and motivate new employees to our HR Central site, helping to create a productive and engaging work environment where we can build success for the company As we increase and centralize workforce in the Belgrade locations, we are looking for this position to support also other European countries in Employee Relation and Labor Relation matters, HR Consultancy, Performance Management issues, etc. This position is also responsible for executing company workforce initiatives, Talent & Organizational Effectiveness, Workforce Planning and Total Rewards Strategies as initiated by the HR Centers of Expertise and/or HR Strategic Business Partners.

This position will:

  • Handle escalated issues within HR Central that cannot be resolved by HR Representatives relative to employee and manager overall HR support.  This includes all matters under the support of HR that are not resolved in Tier I.
  • Consult, participate and where appropriate lead specific business aligned and/or Non-Disclosure projects as defined by the business or HR leadership
  • Interact and take a leading role working with Works Councils / Labor Unions/Employee Representatives if applicable
  • Ensure statutory / employment law and company policy compliance; manage contract negotiations, labor relations, grievances and where applicable with local labor organizations/government
  • Support the deployment of business strategy development aligned programs (SDP), e.g. Employee Engagement, Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness
  • Partner with managers and employees to drive the development and execution of employee performance improvement plans
  • Manage employee relations issues such as harassment, discrimination, or conflict in a manner that mitigates company risk and leads to successful resolution.  Partner with local legal counsel, security and local work councils (where appropriate). Conduct investigations/inquiries as necessary
  • Coordinate with HR Strategic Business Partners in the execution of the people strategy for company workforce initiatives such as reductions in force, divestitures, mergers and acquisitions
  • Drive engagement with HR Shared Services Centers (Tier 1 and back office) and identify work processes to transition to these HR Services Centers
  • Retain awareness and applies knowledge of the local country/NCR environment

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Legal, Human Resources, Management or some related field
  • 4 -6 years experience working as an HR Consultant or of related experience
  • Strong expertise in general business software packages (i.e. Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel) and PC functionality
  • Working knowledge of employment laws compliance requirements
  • Strong consultative skills and employee relations experience
  • Strong communication, negotiation & conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other departments to deliver successful outcomes to complex issues
  • Focus on continuous improvement and business efficiencies
  • Must be fluent in Serbian and English
  • Language proficiency in Czech is desired
  • Other (European) language capabilities will be beneficial
