Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for measuring finished products, components, and tools according to the schedule
- Responsible for reporting and analyzing measurement results
- Responsible for internal documentation (metrology procedures, measurement instructions)
- Owner and responsible for the entire calibration system, including calibration schedules, documentation, and equipment
- Developing measurement strategies and performing measurements
- Participating in the purchase of measuring equipment, spare parts, and coordinating calibration and maintenance of equipment
- Leading the process of metrology and gauge calibration/development, ensuring that measuring devices and equipment are maintained, and calibration is traceable, when possible, as well as monitoring the system for tracking and certification for IATF 16949 compliance
- Developing and optimizing measurement plans for precise data collection and analysis
- Collaborating with engineering teams to determine necessary measuring devices and setups for production processes
- Designing and calibrating measuring devices to ensure accurate and reliable measurement capabilities
- Ensuring compliance with calibration standards and regulations
- Working with APQP/PPAP/MSA/SPC/PFMEA documentation
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives by analyzing metrology data to identify trends and causes of quality issues
- Collaborating with quality, engineering, and operations teams to inspect products, address quality issues, and provide suggestions for improvement
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of metrology, the best practices and industry standards
Position Requirements:
- Secondary or university degree in technical field
- Appropriate working experience in a manufacturing company (experience in steel processing is an advantage)
- Proficiency in English
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiar with IATF 16949 standard
- Metrology and calibration fundamentals
