Lead Accountant
Position Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IFRS and IAS as well as comprehensive knowledge of the statutory tax regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and apply applicable IFRS and IAS standards, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting and tax regulations.
- Monitor and adapt to changes in statutory tax regulations, ensuring correct implementation within the company's financial records.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial bookkeeping and control of general ledger postings.
- Plan, monitor, and control cash flow; identify and correct irregularities.
- Classify financial documentation that falls outside usual business transactions.
- Determine and calculate all tax categories, including VAT, property tax, and income tax; record them with relevant authorities as the company’s tax representative.
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory reports.
- Collaborate with the preparation of the company’s annual financial statements, including the tax balance sheet.
- Prepare data for management reporting on financial performance.
- Review and approve payment orders, controlling incoming and outgoing invoices.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and ensure compliance with supporting documentation and regulations.
- Oversee payroll and employee compensation calculations.
- Depreciation, and periodic accounting entries.
- Reconcile balances in the company’s records with banks and suppliers.
- Liaise with financial institutions, tax authorities, clients, suppliers, and auditors, ensuring smooth cooperation.
- Manage the accounting department team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, particularly in relation to IFRS, IAS, and statutory tax regulations, minimum 5 years.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools, knowledge of Business Central would be considered an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- English language
