Our global IT Infrastructure Team is seeking an energetic individual to work as VMware Administrator. This is a professional position for someone with 5+ years of experience. This individual will extend the existing IT Infrastructure administration team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to diversify his/her experience and gain practical skills in related fields. We have a comfortable atmosphere, positive and friendly colleagues. In our work, we apply the ITIL methodology and ITSM system.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for administering VMware virtual Infrastructure (7.x, 8.x), Veeam infrastructure (v11.x), which are operational on 24x7 basis.
- Optimize productivity of VMware servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various infrastructure and business applications.
- Work closely with applications support, network support, information security, DBAs, project manager as well as externally with hardware and software vendors.
- Recommend and execute modifications in systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Provide second-level support to incidents and ensure timely closure of incidents with SLA compliance.
- Participate in IT projects and act as a Project Manager on certain projects.
- Support servers/services, which are operational on 24x7 basis, deployed at Data Centers and in International Offices.
- Protect Infrastructure servers from security threats by timely updating OS patches, security patches and service packs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical hardware and software problems.
- Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
- Set up monitoring of Virtual infrastructure servers & services.
- Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection (Veeam Backup).
- Build, set up, and upgrade hypervisors used in the virtual infrastructure.
- Provide support & upgrade of hypervisors with vSAN & NSX-T/NSX-V.
- Provision of new VMs as per the corporate standards.
- Manage Veeam backups & replications.
- Manage storages: NetApp, Dell Data Domain.
- Provide full lifecycle support of Veeam servers (setup, upgrade, tuning, architecture optimization).
- Troubleshoot performance & network VM incidents.
- Configure, support & troubleshoot IPSec & VPN (multi-site).
- Manage infrastructure in Oracle Cloud, AWS, integration with on-premise infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure on-premise and based on OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
- Monitor, troubleshoot and capacity planning of vSphere environment.
- Proactively identify and perform hardware and software upgrades.
- Responsible for very high system availability and is on call on 24 x 7 basis.
- Document technical solutions, architectures & etc.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of VMware vSphere infrastructure 7.x, 8.x (install, configure, upgrade & secure).
- Solid knowledge and experience with VMware vSAN (OSA and ESA).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP stack, networking knowledge (firewalls, routing, switching, IPSec, VPN).
- Strong knowledge and experience with VMware NSX (NSX-V and NSX-T).
- Solid work experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam One.
- Detailed knowledge of NetApp, Dell Data Domain enterprise-level storage arrays.
- Understanding of storage performance metrics and the ability to analyze metrics for performance analysis & reporting purposes.
- Understanding of performance metric gathering tools from NetApp.
- Experience with capacity planning and storage allocation forecasting.
- Expert knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft services such as Active Directory, CA (PKI), Terminal Servers.
- Understanding the business processes of an IT company, business continuity, and business impact.
- Expert knowledge of the TCP stack and network services at all levels (DHCP, DNS, VPN etc).
- Good spoken English communication skills.
Desirable
- 5+ years experience in VMware vSphere infrastructure support.
- 3+ years experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Working knowledge with Oracle Cloud, AWS.
- Experience with MS Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure AD, ADFS, Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint Online, Azure AD App Proxy, Conditional access, Intune, Security - Defender ATP.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and hands-on experience with ITSM systems.
- Profile's certifications such as VMware VCP, RedHat, Microsoft.
- Experience with PRTG Monitoring.
