About the Role:
The Safety Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that our operations adhere to all federal, state, and local safety regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, conducting audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including DOT, and FMCSA standards.
- Conduct background checks to verify carrier legitimacy.
- Validate carrier certifications, licenses, and insurance for industry compliance.
- Monitor and enforce safety requirements, review safety records, and ensure regulatory adherence.
- Perform credit checks to assess carrier financial stability and document creditworthiness.
- Manage the carrier setup and onboarding process, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations, and ensure compliance alignment.
- Maintain detailed records of compliance checks, safety evaluations, credit assessments, and onboarding.
- Prepare and present compliance and onboarding reports to management.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to compliance and onboarding procedures.
- Collaborate with departments to integrate compliance practices efficiently.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continuously improve safety programs and compliance efforts.
- Working hours: 8 am - 5 pm or 7 am - 4 pm EST.
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to work US working hours.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety compliance in the logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations related to transportation and logistics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
