As a Material Planner, you will play a central role in coordinating material availability, maintaining optimal stock levels, and supporting efficient supply chain processes. You will collaborate with suppliers, production teams, and warehouse staff to secure on-time deliveries and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Material planning and scheduling
- Plan and schedule material deliveries in line with production plans and customer requirements
- Cooperate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability
- Inventory control
- Monitor stock levels and adjust orders to avoid shortages and excess
- Analyze demand forecasts, production plans, and purchase orders to determine material requirements
- Logistics and supplier management
- Track material shipments and resolve supplier or logistics delays
- Maintain accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials) and material master data in ERP systems
- Build and sustain strong supplier relationships to secure reliable deliveries
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Participate in production planning meetings, providing updates on material status
- Support supply chain efficiency and cost-reduction projects
- Compliance and standards
- Ensure adherence to company policies, stock control procedures, and ISO 14001 standards
- Promote safe working practices, equal rights, energy savings, and environmental goals
- Accurately maintain records and contribute to continuous process improvement
Your profile
- Secondary education (technical or economic field); university degree is an advantage
- Minimum 2 years of experience in material planning, inventory control, procurement, or logistics (preferably in a production environment)
- Solid knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel/data analysis skills
- Understanding of Lean and Just-in-Time (JIT) principles
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and build supplier relationships
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
