Position summary:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Accountant to support our Finance Department. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including invoice processing, account reconciliations, payment management, and VAT reporting, in compliance with local accounting standards and regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment.
Key responsibilities:
Process and control incoming and outgoing invoices using internal systems and SEF (e-invoicing platform)
· Post transactions related to bank statements, petty cash, travel expenses, insurance, and supplier invoices
· Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
· Prepare and execute payment runs; monitor and reconcile payments via e-banking
· Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable, and perform reconciliations of open items
· Collaborate with banks and financial institutions on operational matters
· Calculate and post VAT in accordance with applicable legislation
· Prepare documentation and submit formal requests to public institutions and government offices
· Support external audit activities and ensure timely delivery of required documentation
· Conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
· Perform other duties related to accounting, reporting, and compliance as assigned
Qualifications and experience:
· University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting
· Thorough understanding of Serbian accounting standards and VAT legislation
· Experience with SEF is an advantage
· Familiarity with accounting software and business systems
Skills and competencies:
· Fluency in English (written and spoken)
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel, Outlook and BC)
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
· Experience in an international or multinational company is highly desirable
