For the needs of our “Čoka Rakita” Project department in the in the territory of the municipality of Žagubica, we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the Mining Engineer position.
Role Purpose:
Takes part in the development of projects, drill designs, plans and schedules for the underground mining operations during study, planning (FEL), execution, commissioning and handover phases, to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects in compliance with required standards, Company procedures and Environment, Health and Safety regulations in multinational settings
Provides engineering services/reviews, scope definition, and problem resolution in order to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects for the relevant discipline in compliance with required standards, Company procedures and Environment, Health and Safety regulations in multinational settings.
Description of responsibilities:
- Coordinates contractors and suppliers;
- Fosters continuous improvement of the skills and knowledge of their reports to achieve safe and efficient performance;
- Delegates tasks and sets clear objectives;
- Conduct performance review of his/her direct reports and ensure that such performance reviews are conducted for all other division personnel;
- Ensures compliance with the effective procedures and enforces discipline;
- Participates in the preparation of designs, plans and schedules for the mining operations;
- Participates in the development and planning of designs and projects, methods and procedures for conducting any research work required for optimization and improvement of the mining processes and operations;
- Performs mining engineering design checks;
- Keeps track of engineering projects/field resources and controls project costs to achieve an “in budget” results;
- Prepares cost estimates and/or bill of materials for project budgets and/or scope definition;
- Creates project schedules to achieve on-time project execution and supplier delivery;
- Provides support to other Discipline Engineers on plant, equipment and instruments;
- Prepares technical and detailed technical documents for submission to Serbian authorities;
- Ensures compliance with relevant statutory and government legislation, objectives and priorities for tasks undertaken;
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies in the development and implementation of the capital works projects by making relevant engineering proposals and solutions;
- Recommends remedial actions to mitigate schedule delays, scope creep and budget overruns;
- Drafts contract administration correspondence, inclusive of Meeting Minutes, Technical Queries, Work Change Requests;
- Ensures justifications for contractual claims resolution and/or variations during project implementation;
- Participates in preparation and prepares tender documents for engineering works contractors including but not limited to scopes of works, payments, pricing and work schedules;
- Technically evaluate contractor bids and quotations, based on the requirements set out by the tender documentation or specification;
- Ensures that the equipment deliveries and construction works are compliant with the relevant specifications and designated scopes;
- Completes price enquiries and arranges procurement;
- Interacts with suppliers;
- Interacts with contractors and field operational teams as required;
- Liaises with the Independent Construction Control (ICC);
- Connects to various source systems as the project requires;
- Controls budget expenditures;
- Ensures established functional financial indicators (KPIs);
- Ensures the operable condition of plant and equipment ;
- Ensures proper housekeeping in the production areas;
- Ensures that Occupational, Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements are met for personal activities, and in relation to consultants and contractors engaged on projects;
- Does not allow employees and contractors to operate or repair plant or equipment that they do not normally operate, nor are trained or authorized to operate;
- Investigates and coordinates investigations of incidents, accidents and events deemed unsafe; ensures that all outcomes are communicated and understood;
- Provides safety training to reports and keeps the required records.
Requirements:
- University degree in Mining;
- 3 years of experience as Engineer;
- 2 years of experience on a project work;
- 2 years of experience working on multidisciplinary projects;
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects;
- Computer skills- AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel;
- Good knowledge and understanding of design codes and standards;
- Good understanding of industrial process systems and designs;
- Good knowledge of reading and understanding design documentation;
- Basic Understanding of budget preparation and estimating;
- Basic knowledge of Project Management Processes;
- Good working knowledge of English;
- Current driver’s license.
