Data Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team, responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Microsoft Fabric Datawarehouse and Workspaces as well as key business system source data. You will be working with operations and management on creating and maintaining key management information and operational reporting and facilitating source data quality initiatives and implementing improvements. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and a solid understanding of data quality initiatives that contribute to continuous improvements in data accessibility, reporting accuracy, and application efficiency, enabling the organization’s operational activities and strategic decision making. 

Key responsibilities:

• Reporting: Develop, modify, and maintain operational intelligence reports, including Management Information (MI) and operational reports, and work with semantic models to deliver actionable insights. Update and enhance existing business applications to improve functionality, support operations, and increase efficiency.
• Source Data: Collect, transform, and analyse data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency to identify trends and optimize business processes. Ensure that source data is maintained in key business systems
• Datawarehouse Maintenance: Manage and optimize the Microsoft Fabric Datawarehouse environment, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ingest data from multiple sources into the Fabric Datawarehouse.
• SQL Query Development: Write, optimize, and maintain complex queries using T-SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, adapting to syntax variations across platforms.
• Excel Power Query: Utilize Excel Power Query for data transformation and integration to support reporting and analysis needs.
• Data Governance: Implement and operate data quality initiatives, leveraging foundational data governance knowledge to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and automate reporting processes where feasible.

Required Skills:

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience with MS T-SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, including proficiency in handling syntax variations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, including creating and managing data pipelines for multi-source data ingestion.
• Ability to analyse complex datasets, data modelling, identifying trends, and translate findings into meaningful reports and insights.
• Strong proficiency in PowerBI, including report creation, visualizations, modification, and working with semantic models.
• Experience with Excel Power Query for data transformation and integration.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and scripting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data modelling.

Data Governance:

• Foundational knowledge of data governance and management principles with a specific focus and experience in implementing and operating data quality initiatives, tools and automation to ensure data integrity and quality.

Business Skills:

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to various business applications, providing user support for data-related needs.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to support business requirements by collecting, cleaning, and analysing data from multiple sources.
• Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages an advantage.

Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, 40 working hours per week (standard Serbian working hours) with a hybrid mode of work.
