Job Title: Payroll & Accounting Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and adaptable Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support the accurate entry, audit, and management of payroll and accounting data. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of financial records. The ideal candidate will be dependable, proactive, and highly proficient in Excel — with the ability to analyze data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and update payroll data, including employee hours, pay rates, and deductions.
  • Maintain and update accounting records such as invoices, receipts, and financial transactions.
  • Audit and review payroll and accounting data to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Perform data analysis and validation using advanced Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
  • Ensure timely and compliant processing of payroll and accounting data.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and financial records.
  • Adapt to changes in processes, systems, and workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with payroll and accounting staff to support day-to-day operations.
  • Provide some light level technical support to customers

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data entry, payroll, or accounting roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to audit data and proactively identify issues or inconsistencies.
  • Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing tools or priorities.
