Job Title: Payroll & Accounting Specialist
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and adaptable Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support the accurate entry, audit, and management of payroll and accounting data. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of financial records. The ideal candidate will be dependable, proactive, and highly proficient in Excel — with the ability to analyze data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter and update payroll data, including employee hours, pay rates, and deductions.
- Maintain and update accounting records such as invoices, receipts, and financial transactions.
- Audit and review payroll and accounting data to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Perform data analysis and validation using advanced Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
- Ensure timely and compliant processing of payroll and accounting data.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and financial records.
- Adapt to changes in processes, systems, and workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with payroll and accounting staff to support day-to-day operations.
- Provide some light level technical support to customers
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data entry, payroll, or accounting roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and other data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to audit data and proactively identify issues or inconsistencies.
- Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing tools or priorities.
