Ball Corporation is currently looking for a motivated and nimble person for the position:

Purchasing and Customs Supervisor

(Location: Belgrade Plant)

Primary purpose of position:

As a member of the Department, takes all necessary measures to achieve the set business goals within the Department, while respecting all the existing procedures and rules regarding the quality of work, protection at work and environmental protection.

Department: Procurement

Reports to: Plant Manager

Direct reports: 5

Main tasks:

  • Organizes the procurement of goods and services under competitive terms and prices and ensures that procurement processes are functioning within the optimal conditions and deadlines, according to the company-defined procedures and set standards.
  • Gathers information and communicates with the suppliers, as well as provides information regards to procurement to superiors and BPE Central Procurement.
  • Organizes customs processes, imports and exports of finished goods, materials and spare parts, in accordance with regulations.
  • Creates procedures related to customs, import and export processes and ensures that procedures and documentation are always in accordance with the positive regulations.
  • Controls the operation of raw materials warehouse, spare parts, the auxiliary materials warehouse and similar.
  • Prepares contracts related to goods and services procurement.
  • Maintains close relations with the goods and services suppliers in order to improve information flow, work process, understanding their systems and business optimization pursuant to the company needs.
  • In everyday work, uses the appropriate software system for electronic data management (SAP). Incorporates and updates data within his/her responsibilities in SAP.
  • Leads and motivates subordinates, continuously develops their capabilities, aids in human resource management measures.
  • Assists in the process of controlling received goods and services, ensuring that the quality of the goods is in accordance with the agreements; assists in the process of control over the system for the internal issuing and recording of goods.
  • Cooperates with local and central accounting/finance functions to ensure that all costs are recorded in a controlled manner. Aids in the work of customs inspection services and other relevant state authorities and participates in the correction of irregularities and resolving possible disputes.
  • In connection with the above-mentioned jobs, all tasks that the Employer assigns to him/her, as well as all tasks that are specifically agreed on in writing.

  • Within the Ball Corporation: With the Central Procurement and Procurement  Departments across Ball Packaging Europe operations
  • Outside the company: With the goods and services suppliers and inspection services


Qualifications and experience

  • Higher Education or University level degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • In depth knowledge of customs, foreign trade and regulations
