Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designing individual product packaging specifications and calculating costs
- Cost reductions for packaging in consultation with customers
- Quality complaints from customers - investigate whether the problem is due to packaging and consider improvements
- Conducting audits of suppliers of auxiliary materials and confirming corrective measures for any issues identified
- Take part in supplier nomination process
- Conduct and support supplier APQP
- Support cross functional teams (APQP) and function as a liaison to additional supplier development /supplier quality resources
- Implement Quality systems for production and supply base
- Advise and support Quality Technicians on day-to-day production issues and process controls
- Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
- Work with suppliers directly to create corrective action plans to address process failures. Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of corrective action process and quality tools and techniques
- Plan, prepare and execute product and process audit reports according to applicable quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, VDA 6.5)
- Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
- Regularly communicate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain team members internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement
- Collect, maintain, and report on supplier performance metrics by means of KPIs and supplier visits as well as conducting workshops
- Regularly visit suppliers and assist the supply chain group in conducting supplier audits
- Prepare, update and coordinate incoming inspection plans
- Create, issue and complete Supplier Corrective Action requests
- Sampling approval (PPAP): initialize, observe, judge and approve products and processes at suppliers
- Capacity verification (R&R): independent planning, execution and rating of capacity verification (Run@Rate)
- For serial phase: Manage and monitor suppliers after product development process is completed
- Conduct quality planning and assurance of purchased parts and coordinate new product or process launches to ensure quality serial delivery
Position Requirements:
- University degree or higher education in technical, organizational, or social sciences
- Minimum 1 year of work experience
- English language
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of VDA 6.3, IATF 16949
- Familiar with FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, PDCA, QRQC
