Remote Systems Administrator (VMWare/KVM/Proxmox)

Company Overview:

We are a Cloud Service Provider headquartered in California with a growing team in Serbia. We specialize in hosting MS Windows Servers and MS RDP environments, utilizing Veeam for backups. As we transition from VMWare to KVM (Proxmox), we seek an experienced Systems Administrator to manage our cloud infrastructure. This is a full-time remote position with a fixed work schedule aligned with Serbian working hours and occasional after-hours support for our U.S. team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily administration and maintenance of VMWare-based systems, with active participation in the migration to KVM (Proxmox).
• Manage and monitor MS Windows Servers and MS RDP environments.
• Implement and maintain backup solutions using Veeam.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issystem performance, connectivity, and security issues.
• Provide after-hours support for the U.S. team as required (on a rotational basis).
• Ensure system security, backup integrity, and ongoing optimization of the infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, particularly with cloud-based environments.
• Expertise with VMWare and Veeam, with experience or willingness to learn KVM (Proxmox).
• Strong knowledge of MS Windows Server and RDP.
• Full server backup and restore experience.
• OS updates and AV protection.
• Firewall and network configuration.
• Fluency in English and Serbian.
• Reliable computer and high-speed internet connection (required for remote work).
• Strong time-management and self-discipline to work independently from home.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud migrations (VMWare to KVM preferred).
• Familiarity with Linux environments and automation tools.
• Experience providing remote technical support.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position aligned with standard Serbian working hours (Monday to Friday).
• Occasional after-hours support for U.S. teams, as needed.
