BCI d.o.o. Novi Sad is a holding company that operates within the TransOil group, and in Serbia it groups the operations of 4 companies (VictoriaOil d.o.o. Šid, Granexport d.o.o. Pančevo, Žito-Bačka d.o.o. Kula, Luka-Bačka Palanka d.o.o. Bačka Palanka). We need a new team member for the position:

Risk and Controls Analyst 

 The selected candidate will join a highly skilled and committed team. This position offers the chance to learn about a dynamic and valuable business, with the opportunity to grow alongside it.

 The role will be based in Serbia, Novi Sad, part of the Group Internal Audit function, with strong working relationship with Group Chief Risk Officer. 

It will provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and improve Group’s operations, with focus on Serbia. 

 This position reports to Head of Internal Audit and partners with business functions to identify areas of risk, make valuable recommendations to management, and to influence change and decision within the organization. 

The Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Head of Internal Audit in annual internal audit planning exercise and Internal Audit risk assessment 
  • Participate in the planning and execution of audit missions to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of financial and operational controls, the reliability and accuracy of data and information systems, and the adequacy of controls over segregation of duties, safeguarding of assets and corporate governance
  • Regular monitoring of controls execution and making proposals to improve controls design for significant processes in the business, such as: 
    • Stock controls (reporting/weighbridges/quality testing etc) through scheduled or unannounced site visits for both internal and external storage facilities 
    • Reconciliation of financial pledge system 
    • Commodity (pricing/ mechanisms/policy)
    • Pre-financing (criteria /mechanisms/policy)
    • Security (criteria/mechanisms/policy)
  • Support creation and implementation of various procedures in the business
  • Support development and implementation of updated SER SAP Platform
  • Maintain a depository for all the documents required by IA/RISK (Procedures, spreadsheets, key communications/documents)
  • Execute audit tests competently in accordance with policies and procedures. Prepare audit work papers documenting audit steps in the audit program. Ensure information is presented clearly, concisely, accurately, in a logical format, and has appropriate audit conclusions
  • Assist in making oral, and/or written presentations (e.g. discussion outline) at the end of an audit.
  • Participate in discussing observations, recommending corrective actions, and assisting with suggesting improvements to processes reviewed (i.e. analyze and assist with compilation of audit findings)
  • Promote Internal Audit as a value add to the organization and deliver audit services that consistently improve the control environment and achieve operational excellence.

  The Qualifications: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and at least 3 years of audit or risk experience. A mix of audit experience along with accounting / finance experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated external or internal audit experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Excel or spreadsheet execution (proficient with Microsoft products) required
  • Data Analytics working experience is an advantage, but should not be a stopper if you want to apply 
  • A Professional Designation (ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, CIA) is desired (completed or in progress)

 Other skills:

  • Able to deal with complex projects and contribute accordingly, understanding business priorities
  • Maintaining awareness of market events and trends that may require a quick turnaround in plans and strategy  
  • Confident, competent, diplomatic, professional and able to exercise great judgement in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships at all levels of management and staff to help them achieve success in their strategies and processes
  • Serbian speaker, English at least upper-intermediate.
