We are seeking a Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. This role reports to the Transportation manager.
100% Remote | Full-Time
As a key member of our operations team, you’ll take ownership of our safety and compliance programs, ensuring all drivers, vehicles, and operations adhere to federal, state, and industry regulations. This is a fully remote role — work from anywhere while making a real impact on road safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state transportation regulations
- Maintain and manage driver qualification files, drug & alcohol testing records, and accident reports
- Oversee and manage Hours of Service (HOS) using ELD systems (experience with Motive/KeepTruckin is a strong plus)
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to proactively identify risks and enforce corrective actions
- Administer and manage IFTA reporting and related fuel tax compliance
- Monitor and coach drivers on safe driving practices, using telematics and safety scorecards
- Collaborate with dispatch and HR to support driver onboarding, training, and disciplinary processes
- Lead safety meetings, issue safety bulletins, and develop a strong safety culture throughout the fleet
- Stay up to date on evolving laws and trends affecting commercial transportation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or Safety Coordinator in the trucking or transportation industry
- In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, HOS, and IFTA regulations
- Familiarity with Motive (KeepTruckin) or similar fleet management platforms
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Comfortable working remotely and independently, managing multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting mock DOT audits
- Prior involvement in accident investigations and root cause analysis
- Certifications in Transportation Safety or Compliance (e.g., NATMI, OSHA)
