Safety Officer
Relex Logistics Inc. is looking for a dynamic and driven Safety Officer with a strong understanding of FMCSA regulations and industry compliance standards.
The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in full compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation and safety laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in alignment with FMCSA, OSHA, and company standards.
- Conduct internal safety training sessions for drivers and staff, including topics such as defensive driving, injury prevention, and ELD compliance.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and identify root causes.
- Prepare for DOT audits and serve as the primary liaison during all safety or compliance inspections.
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to resolve HOS violations and improve driver performance metrics.
- Utilize fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, KeepTruckin) to analyze safety data and generate reports.
- Conduct ride-alongs and field audits to observe driver behavior and ensure real-world compliance with safety policies.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- High energy and a proactive attitude
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Fluent in spoken and written English
The advantage is given to candidates who have completed a traffic and transport engineering faculty, department road saffety.
