We’re looking for an SEO Lead to join our team and take ownership of our clients’ search performance, with a strong emphasis on Local SEO and advanced SEO strategies.
Role Overview
As the SEO Lead, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and managing SEO campaigns that drive traffic, improve search rankings, and generate quality leads for our clients. You will oversee keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy, backlink development, and technical SEO, while ensuring our clients are highly visible in local markets and beyond.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role—you’ll be expected to create actionable plans, manage deliverables, and track results to demonstrate ROI.
Key Responsibilities
1. Local SEO
- Optimize Google Business Profiles (GBP) for clients.
- Build and manage local citations across directories.
- Implement localized keyword targeting for city- and region-specific ranking.
- Develop content that supports local search visibility (service-area pages, location-based blogs, etc.).
2. SEO Strategy & Execution
- Perform in-depth keyword research and analysis to identify ranking opportunities.
- Build content plans aligned to keyword clusters and business objectives.
- Manage on-page SEO improvements including meta tags, schema, internal linking, and optimized site architecture.
- Oversee backlink acquisition campaigns (guest posting, partnerships, outreach, digital PR).
- Conduct SEO audits and implement technical improvements to maximize site performance.
3. Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics, GA4, Google Search Console, and SEMrush/Ahrefs
- Prepare detailed performance reports and communicate results clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor SEO activities and adjust strategies accordingly.
4. Leadership & Collaboration
- Work with content writers, designers, and developers to ensure SEO best practices are implemented.
- Mentor junior SEO specialists and support their professional development.
- Collaborate with account managers to align SEO deliverables with client expectations.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of proven SEO experience, ideally in an agency setting.
- Strong expertise in Local SEO and managing Google Business Profiles.
- Deep knowledge of keyword research, content strategy, backlink building, and on-page optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO, etc.).
- Familiarity with WordPress and other CMS platforms.
- Solid understanding of Google’s ranking algorithms and SEO best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of technical SEO (site speed optimization, structured data, crawl/index issues).
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with paid search or Google Ads.
- Familiarity with multi-location SEO campaigns.

Important Information
- Salary will be based on the experience of the individual
- You will be trained based on the systems and current workflow of Guru SEO and Web Design Services
- Although this position is full-time permanent you will be employed as a consultant and will issue an invoice at the end of each month to Guru SEO and Web Design Services
- Excellent communication skills are necessary, and commitment to meeting deadlines. Tasks will be assigned through Clickup.
- Each day the team has a 15 min online daily scrum.
