ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as a leader, coach and mentor to direct reports. Meets regularly with employees. Evaluates performance of personnel. Documents career development opportunities, performance deficiencies, and disciplines according to organizational standards.
- Responsible for managing the physical security operations on sites
- Constantly evaluates operational programs for service delivery consistencies and efficiencies. Recommends and implements solutions to fix operational deficiencies.
- Recognizes frequently changing priorities and events, directs the activities of the Operations staff in a timely manner.
- Reviews and approves reports and other documents prepared by Officers to ensure accuracy and adequacy, assures cases are properly prepared and presented, prepares memos and similar internal correspondence, enters and extracts data from computer programs/systems.
- Escalates via chain of command all complaints and inquiries received from the Client, management, staff, or other departments; investigates, prepares reports/statements, collects evidence, and presents findings to senior management.
- Manages Shift Supervisors, Security Responders, Security Officers or DIO’s.
- Conducts regular briefings with Security personnel and disseminates appropriate crime information and other data as necessary. Responsible for conducting regular roll-call training on topics relevant to best practices.
- Evaluates Security Officer/Responder actions at accidents and serious/sensitive events, assumes command, and provides assistance to Officers in the field.
- Debriefs personnel after critical incidents and prepares written After Incident Reports and disseminates to appropriate staff.
- In conjunction with Scheduling, ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions.
- Standard business hours will be Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00 office based. May be required to work outside of these hours due to operational needs. A requirement to be contactable 24 hours in case of emergencies.
MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS:
- Must have a reliable means of communication
- Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English. (C1)
- Must be willing to participate in a pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
- Must have the ability to complete a First Aid and a Fire Training course.
- Must be willing to travel when required.
- Must be flexible in working outside of normal business hours.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred, 3+ years of security /law enforcement supervisory and/or management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable country and municipal licensing requirements to work in the Security Industry.
- Knowledge of 24x7 security operations and procedures.
- Skill in staff management, including coaching, mentoring training, assigning work and discipline.
- Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance.
- Adapt to multiple changing priorities and carry out multiple assignments concurrently.
- Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls.
- Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Strong customer service and service delivery orientation.
- Ability to be an effective leader and member of project teams.
