An exciting opportunity has become available in our Belgrade team for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to take on the role of Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and will be responsible for leading a team focused on providing high-quality service to a specific client. This role offers exposure to a variety of accounting functions while working closely with teams in both Sydney and Serbia.

We ensure that up-to-date financial reporting is always at their fingertips, empowering them to make time-critical decisions for smooth business operations. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential for this role as a Senior Accountant.
As a Senior Accountant, you will benefit from an outstanding learning and development environment supported by our management team. The role is primarily remote, but there will be opportunities to travel and work from our office in Belgrade. We also offer flexible working arrangements and will provide all necessary resources to ensure efficient and productive work from home.
Please see below what will be your duties and responsibilities:
- Participating in the Client Transition training program
- Provide technical guidance, direction and support to team members within the team with an aim to foster long term independence
- Make sound judgement on what and when to escalate client queries or ad hoc matters to Client Liasion
- Identify where queries may indicate potential areas of scope creep and escalate to Finance Manager
- Mentor team members to reach a working state of independence, exercising individual resourcefulness and accountability for allocated tasks.
- Prepare, review and lodge BAS/IAS/Payroll Tax
- Prepare, review and finalise payroll and superannuation
- Prepare and review and finalise reporting, cash flow and financial analysis
- Prepare, review and finalise EOFY tax preparation, STP annual reconciliations and taxable payments annual report (TPAR)
- Prepare, review and finalise business and vehicle insurances e.g. Workers Compensation (Actual Wages Declaration)
- Deliver task training as required when addressing queries from team members (firstly determine whether to provide the answer, teach how to find the answer or point to where the answer is)
- Provide constructive feedback to team members etc.
The ideal candidate for the role will have/are:
- At least 3 years of experience in Accounting
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team
- Exposure to accounting for Australian Companies
- Open to candid feedback
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Ability to retain information and learn quickly
- Satisfied with consistency and structure in their work schedule
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Available full-time Monday to Friday 08:30am – 04:30pm Belgrade time
- Fast typing and data entry speed
- Good knowledge of English, both verbal and written essential
- Communicate professionally with clients as well as internal stakeholders
- Flexible attitude with regard to job scope
- Happy disposition, honest, dedicated, and reliable
- Willingness to learn and has a positive attitude
