Well known International Construction company is searching for a motivated candidate to take the challenge and to successfully fulfill the position of Senior Accountant
General tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the accounting manager
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information
- Preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
- Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks verifying finished product
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts
- Providing information for auditors
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
- Secures financial information by completing database backups
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks
- Participating in professional organizations
- Avoids fiscal challenges with tax authorities
- Liaise with internal management audit
- Liaise with the external audit
- Secure the validity of the accounting books
- Organize the smooth collaboration between the employees in accounting department
- Confirms balances
- Communication with their accounting offices for the reconciliation of balance accounts, if cannot be handled by junior accountant
- Exchanging information for proper documentation, payment schedule, pending issues
- Checking and Following up of the correctness of Subcontractors and Suppliers documents according to the procedures of the company
Requirements:
- Fully proficient in Serbian and English
- Relevant degree from a university in Accounting or Finance
- More than 3 years working experience in the same or similar works
- Experienced user of SAP or any major ERP System
- Knowledge of local and international accounting standards
- Strong computer and database skills
