- PathwayPort is a fast-growing SaaS company transforming how insurance brokers communicate with their clients. We’re looking for a Senior Developer who can own the backend, guide architectural decisions, and lead our dev team into the next phase of growth. This is a high-impact leadership track role with the potential to evolve into CTO for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a small team of developers (1:1s, code reviews, feedback loops)
- Guide architectural discussions and help shape the product roadmap
- Own project management in tools like Jira or GitHub Projects
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Support, Sales, and CS
- Drive decisions around build vs. buy, tech debt prioritization, and scalability
- Balance speed of delivery with long-term code maintainability
- Roll up your sleeves to debug live issues, improve SQL performance, and ship code
What You Bring
Leadership & Management
- Experience managing and motivating technical teams
- Skilled in Agile/Lean practices: sprint planning, retros, backlog grooming
- Ability to coach junior and mid-level developers
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Technical Skills
- Strong backend development experience (preferably PHP + MySQL)
- Experience integrating with external APIs (Zapier, webhooks, third-party services)
- Familiar with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Linux/Ubuntu server ops)
- Proficient in Git version control and branching strategies
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, EC2, hosted services)
- Confident debugging in live production environments
- Comfort with modern AI tools and LLMs, especially in user-facing applications
Domain Knowledge (or eager to learn)
- Experience with or understanding of marketing automation (drip campaigns, triggers)
- Appreciation for data privacy and compliance in client communications
