Position Overview
The Senior Sourcing Analyst is responsible for delivering critical analytical support to category managers and sourcing leaders in pursuit of optimized supplier performance, total cost reductions, risk mitigation, and value creation. This role is a vital part of the sourcing team, using deep data analysis, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration to drive fact-based decision-making across sourcing initiatives.
The analyst will help lead the preparation of sourcing events (RFx), perform quantitative evaluations of supplier responses, monitor supplier KPIs, and continuously evaluate category performance against targets. This individual will also assist in contract lifecycle management and supplier negotiations by producing should-cost models, benchmarking studies, and scenario analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Category Strategy Support
- Partner with Category Managers and Sourcing Leads to execute category strategies across direct and indirect spend areas.
- Develop comprehensive sourcing event analyses, including cost breakdowns, total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments, supplier comparisons, and risk profiles.
- Assist in the preparation, execution, and evaluation of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs to enable competitive and fair supplier selection.
Spend & Cost Analysis
- Extract, cleanse, and categorize spend data across multiple ERP systems and procurement tools.
- Identify cost savings opportunities through analysis of historical spend, supplier consolidation, and alternate sourcing options.
- žPerform variance analysis and financial impact modeling for pricing changes, inflation, currency, and supply chain disruptions.
Supplier Performance & Contract Analytics
- Build and maintain dashboards to track supplier performance (OTD, quality, pricing compliance, risk).
- Support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with data-driven insights and structured supplier scorecards.
- Monitor contract adherence and collaborate with stakeholders to address non-compliance or cost leakage issues.
Market & Risk Intelligence
- Conduct industry, commodity, and market trend research to inform sourcing decisions and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain databases of benchmark pricing, supply risks, and supplier capabilities to support proactive sourcing.
- Stay current on macroeconomic and geopolitical factors impacting supply availability or costs.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Lead initiatives to automate reporting, enhance data visualization, and streamline sourcing workflows.
- Propose and implement process improvements in spend management, sourcing operations, and procurement governance.
- Act as a power user and trainer for procurement systems and tools (e.g., spend analysis platforms, RFx systems, BI dashboards).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the analytical liaison between procurement, finance, operations, and supply chain teams.
- Translate business needs into sourcing criteria and analytical requirements.
- Support strategic supplier negotiations with robust data packages and scenario-based recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (B2 level or higher) – capable of clear written and verbal communication in a professional business environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement analytics, or supply chain strategy.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, nested formulas, charts).
- Experience working with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, industrial services, or CPG sectors.
- Familiarity with SAP (MM, Ariba, or related procurement modules) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with sourcing platforms (e.g., Coupa, Jaggaer, Ariba Sourcing).
- Familiarity with should-cost modeling, TCO analysis, and supplier scorecarding.
- Exposure to category strategy frameworks such as Kraljic Matrix or Porter’s Five Forces.
