Position Overview
The Senior SAP Application Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of SAP modules in alignment with business goals. This role serves as a functional and technical expert, collaborating with business users, developers, and third-party consultants to ensure SAP applications run efficiently and support critical processes such as finance, logistics, supply chain, and production planning. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in one or more SAP modules (such as SD, MM, FICO, PP, WM), strong problem-solving skills, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities
System Configuration & Optimization
- Configure SAP modules based on business requirements, process changes, and industry best practices.
- Analyze existing systems and workflows, proposing enhancements to improve system performance and user efficiency.
- Manage customizations, enhancements, and testing efforts for new functionalities or system upgrades.
Project Implementation & Support
- Lead or support SAP module implementations, upgrades, and rollouts across departments or global locations.
- Serve as SME for SAP-related projects, ensuring deliverables meet technical and functional expectations.
- Provide tier 2/3 support for SAP-related issues, resolve tickets, and troubleshoot system errors.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document functional specs, and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with developers and external consultants on solution design and execution.
- Conduct training sessions and develop user documentation to support system adoption.
Data Integrity & Reporting
- Monitor and maintain data quality across SAP modules and ensure integration with other enterprise systems.
- Create and support reports using SAP tools (e.g., SAP Query, Fiori apps, or embedded analytics).
- Ensure proper access controls and security settings in collaboration with IT security teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process automation opportunities and recommend solutions to streamline operations.
- Stay up-to-date with SAP product updates, industry trends, and digital transformation strategies.
- Participate in roadmap planning and strategic IT initiatives involving SAP.
Qualifications & Requirements
Language: Fluent in English – level B2 or better
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP functional experience in at least one major module (e.g., SD, MM, FICO, PP, WM, EWM)
- Experience with at least one full-cycle SAP implementation or major upgrade
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA environments is highly preferred
Technical Skills:
- Strong configuration knowledge and functional expertise in SAP modules
- Understanding of SAP integration points with other systems (e.g., CRM, MES, BI)
- Familiarity with ABAP debugging, SAP Solution Manager, and testing tools (e.g., HP ALM, JIRA)
- Knowledge of SAP security, roles, and authorizations is a plus
