Position Overview

The Senior SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, monitoring, and support of the entire SAP landscape. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of SAP systems, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, and Fiori. As a senior technical expert, this position leads upgrades, patching, migrations, and supports strategic SAP projects in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Support

• Perform daily administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP systems across development, test, and production environments
• Manage user authorizations, roles, and transport management systems (TMS)
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot performance issues across SAP applications and databases

Upgrades, Patching & Migrations

• Lead or support SAP kernel upgrades, support packs, enhancement packs, and system refreshes
• Plan and execute SAP system copies, OS/DB migrations, and Unicode conversions
• Support S/4HANA migrations or greenfield implementations when applicable

Landscape Architecture & Optimization

• Design and maintain high-availability SAP landscapes in coordination with infrastructure teams
• Recommend tuning parameters and architecture enhancements to improve system performance and stability
• Participate in cloud and hybrid deployment initiatives (AWS, Azure, or private cloud for SAP)

Security, Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain SAP security standards, roles, and authorization concepts
• Ensure systems are compliant with audit and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR)
• Create and maintain documentation for configurations, upgrades, and procedures

Collaboration & Project Leadership

• Collaborate with SAP functional, development, and infrastructure teams to support integrations and deployments
• Act as the SAP Basis subject matter expert (SME) on projects and production escalations
• Mentor junior Basis administrators and participate in knowledge sharing across teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Language: Fluent in English – level B2 or better

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

• 8+ years of SAP Basis experience in large, complex environments
• Proven experience administering S/4HANA and ECC systems
• Experience with SAP HANA databases, Solution Manager, and Fiori Launchpad

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of SAP architecture, NetWeaver stack, and HANA administration
• Proficient in Linux/Unix and Windows OS, SAP monitoring tools, and scripting (Shell, PowerShell)
• Familiarity with SAP cloud deployment models (SAP Cloud Platform, Azure/AWS for SAP)
• Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning
