System Engineer

Location: Belgrade, Serbia 

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote); Fully remote applications will be considered

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Engineer to join our dynamic IT team based in Belgrade, Serbia. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in system engineering with a strong background in Azure Cloud services. This role involves maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain Windows servers both on-premises and in the cloud, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Azure Cloud Management: Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking in Azure. Utilize Azure services such as Azure AD, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, and Azure Security Center.
• Network Administration: Oversee network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance and identify potential issues. Perform regular updates, patches, and security enhancements to maintain system integrity and security.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts (using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages) to streamline system management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Technical Support: Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support to internal teams, troubleshoot system and network issues, and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems, configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a System Engineer or in a similar role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in managing and deploying Azure Cloud services.
• Strong understanding of Windows server environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
• Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or a similar language.
• Knowledge of security best practices for system and network administration.
• Certifications: Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid or fully remote work environment.
