
Android Application Group Leader
- Leading a group of Android application and system engineers (typically 3-5 teams, 30–50 engineers) for projects such as Google Reference TV program or for 'state of the art' software for Japanese market
- Defining and owning the software architecture and technical direction across projects, acting as escalation point for cross-team and partner-facing technical topics
- Leading and mentoring technical team leads, fostering accountability, technical excellence and professional growth (review performance and KPIs, define training plan, govern the onboarding plan and ramp‑up, define salaries, monitor engagement and satisfaction, address underperformance, take active role in hiring processes)
- Supporting pre-sales through requirements elicitation, technical SOW creation, effort estimation, and timeline input
- Promoting best practices in design, code review, testing, documentation, and reuse
- Ensuring delivery across all projects meets defined scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Guiding cross-team design, integration, and test strategy; resolving dependencies and removing blockers
- Collaboration with QA, CX, and System Engineering leads to ensure high-quality system performance
- Participation in risk and change management activities, such as identifying technical risks, providing impact analysis, mitigation planning and coordinating cross-team execution of change preparation activities and corrective actions
- Maintaining the Group Opportunity Roadmap and supporting resource planning and organizational growth
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a team lead or technical leadership role
- Expert knowledge and experience in Android application development
- Technical expertise with the domain - Jetpack, Java and Kotlin
- Expertise in software architecture, code optimization, and performance tuning
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Very good knowledge of English language
