Country Sales Manager – Serbia

Friendly client, a leading environmental engineering company, is expanding operations to Serbia and is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Country Sales Manager. This is a unique opportunity for a senior professional to shape market presence from the ground up and evolve into the Managing Director role within 1–2 years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead business development and direct sales activities across Serbia
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships in both the public and private sectors
• Represent the company to municipalities, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders
• Align local activities with HQ strategy
• Lay the foundation for future local team growth and operations
• Promote and uphold the brand and values in Serbia

Candidate Profile:

• 5–10+ years of experience in sales or business development within infrastructure, water, environmental technologies, or related B2B sectors
• Proven track record of independently initiating and closing deals (especially with municipalities or public sector entities)
• Fluent in Serbian and English (Hungarian is a strong plus)
• Entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on leadership approach
• Civil engineering degree is a strong asset, particularly in water/environmental fields
• People management experience is a plus
• Willingness to take on full country leadership responsibility in the near future
• Familiarity with public procurement procedures in Serbia
• Familiar with EU-funded projects and tenders
• Strong communication skills and problem-solving mindset
