Job Opportunity: Legal Associate 
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Employment Type: Full-time via outsorucing agency 
Contract Type: Indefinite, with a 6-month probation period

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3–5 years of in-house experience or experience at a law firm;
  • Bachelor of Laws degree;
  • Experience in commercial law and general civil law is a must;
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral – you will use it for drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and documents;
  • Ability to work across different sectors and departments and report to management;
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, together with a strong business sense, are required;
  • Ability to handle both routine and complex legal matters;
  • Ability to effectively deliver sound and clear legal advice in a business setting;
  • Computer skills required: proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Optimistic, patient, precise, with good communication skills;
  • Ability to travel occasionally;
  • Bar exam not required.

Bonus points:

  • Experience in the IT/ICT industry;
  • Experience working in multiple jurisdictions and/or with EU laws.

Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Monitoring and ensuring the company’s compliance with local laws, as well as compliance with the company’s internal policies related to legal issues;
  • Handling corporate matters and preparing corporate governance tasks, including board and shareholders’ resolutions and other regular corporate documents, and managing company registry formalities;
  • Providing legal support and advice to different departments of the company;
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including sales and service contracts, partner and vendor agreements, as well as tender documentation, NDAs, DPAs, MOUs, SOWs, SLAs, etc.;
  • Reviewing various documents, including general terms of business, privacy policies, product pages, warranty policies, and finance documents, to ensure they are aligned with local laws and company policies;
  • Advising on employment law matters;
  • Researching and analyzing industry-specific regulations to assess their impact on business and assisting in the preparation and implementation of measures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including telecom law, IPR law, contract law, criminal law, employment law, immigration law, consumer protection law, privacy and cybersecurity law, and EU law;
  • Cooperating with external counsel in specialized legal matters;
  • Working as part of a team, liaising with different stakeholders, providing cross-functional advice to various departments and teams, and reporting to the general counsel.
